Aloha!
My name is Jarred Zuehl. I am 23 years old, and live on the island of Kauai. I have been married to my beautiful wife Jamie for just over a year now and we are expecting our first little baby girl in April of 2026! A little bit about my story is that I was blessed to have been raised in a Christian household where Jesus was not only my savior but also my friend. Fast track to my years in high school and college, and my attention quickly turned to focus on football, dating a girl I had met, and trying to fit in with my fellow athletes. This lead to a span of two years in which the only part of my walk with God that was being upheld was periodically and somewhat religiously going to church and Bible study groups. One of those groups actually being FCA. Having grown up in church and around Christians I thought I knew so much and allowed pride to persist at many time while still living in open sin. In the summer of 2023 my girlfriend recommended we go on a mission trip for two weeks to Africa, and something in me said yes! Those two weeks would turn into a full month, and during my time there I was radically encountered by not only the love of Jesus but also the fear of the Lord. I realized I was living for myself while calling myself a Christian. I decided then and there to make Jesus lord of my life and surrender my life fully to Him. Coming back I decided to walk away from D-1 football, the university I was attending, and many of the friends I was walking with. Instead I started working, growing in a relationship with the Word, and saving up for an engagement ring. These last several years have been filled with nothing but the Lord’s pure joy. I got to marry my best friend, and we moved to Hawaii to spend our first year of marriage together. We have found an incredible community of not just believers but also family through our church. And both of us have been able to pursue our passions with myself coaching football at our local high school, and my wife teaching dance at one of the studios on island. God has truly blessed us beyond what we thought possible, and we are excited to see what he has in store for us next. I pray that with this new position I will be able to see kids, athletes, and coaches come to know the love of Jesus while also teaching about the importance and value that sports can have in a persons daily life. I seek to rely on the Lord in every facet of this job and desire to see the great commission carried out in the world of athletics.
